To our dearest No Bones family,
It is with much love and appreciation in our hearts but with deep sadness that we announce the permanent closure of No Bones PDX. Unfortunately, after much thought and careful consideration of the many challenges facing us, we have come to realize that we cannot successfully re-open our Portland location because of the pandemic. Our team has always cherished being a member of the Portland vegan community and this decision, while necessary, is devastating to us.
The last 6 months have been incredibly painful as the entire hospitality industry has crumbled from COVID-19. We’ve spent every day looking for ways to keep our restaurants alive within a completely changed industry. We have weighed every last possibility in order to keep our brand and mission alive in PDX, but taking into account the extreme challenges of COVID-19, there is no other choice but to close this location due to its unique challenges.
Our hope is to re-open our Seattle and Chicago locations for take-out only in the near future. We are very, very devastated that this is the “best outcome” and leaves us without our Portland family. We hope that these two locations will be successful enough to keep our mission alive for the animals.
THANK YOU to our incredible employees, customers, vendors and local non-profit partners over the last 3 years for the memories, laughs, meals, summer patio happy hours, events, fundraisers, community activism, and shark shots. Additionally, thank you for supporting our woman & vegan owned small business in our mission to reduce animal consumption and create a more compassionate future for all living beings! We hope to see all of your smiling faces again someday in Seattle or Chicago when it’s safe!
With love, gratitude, and always #fortheanimals,
No Bones Beach Club
